The Lincolnshire Military Preservation Society, often abbreviated to simply the LMPS by its members and associates, is a WW2 living history group based in Lincolnshire, on the east coast of the United Kingdom. We have members from all of the country, all fostering the same enthusiasm for accuracy and dedication to their hobby. The Society does not aim to glorify or advertise war, rather, its goal is to portray the Second World War in a vivid and realistic way so that the ultimate sacrifice paid by so many during the conflict of 1939 to 1945 will never be forgotten. Unlike many other groups with similar interests, the LMPS does not limit itself to portraying one specific unit. Its members portray a number of different units, including those of the British, American and German Armies. A list of the those units follows, and a brief unit history of each can be found by clicking on its title:
The LMPS attends and helps to organise many WW2 living history and static display events around the county, and many of its members make regular trips abroad, partaking in pilgrimages to many great battle sites include Normandy, Holland and Belgium. The Society is always on the look out for keen enthusiasts in the hobby to become members of the group, and anyone that may be interested in joining should contact either the Unit Commander of the unit they wish to join (found in the Contact Us area), or by filling out our online request form found on the Join Us page. Lest We Forget!… |
