I've recently recieved a U.S Corps Of Engineers compass, and I'm just asking if anyone can tell me if the numbers above where it says "CORPS OF ENGINEERS", is a serial number or the date: 6 - 45. Thanks

Richard

Hi Richard,
Thats the date i.e. month year so June 1945. Have you got the compass pouch for it? as I may have one for sale if you are interested.

Cheers,
Chris.

Cheers Chris, yes I would be interested in a case if you have one, that was what I was going to look for next when I've saved up enough pocket money, mind you I could always ask for a loan off our inhouse loan shark, Daz, lol. thanks.

Richard, sorry for not getting bacvk to you sooner I have been unable to get on the forum :? But Ben has now sorted that out.
It's an unissued wwii pouch. When Ben gets back I'll ask him to email you some photos of it. I was going to put it on ebay with some other bits I am thinking of selling but see what you think to it first.

Cheers,
Chris.

More work...

Will sort the pictures out for you when I get back, Richard.

Dad, did I forget to mention that I now work on a commission basis for photography?

Cheers,
Ben.

Hi Richard,

Ben took the photographs of the pouch for me when he got home. Here's the front and back:

I'm afraid that I'm going to have ask £35.00 including postage and PayPal fees for it though. It's a mint example and they don't show up too often. If that's too expensive for you, I completely understand.

Cheers mate,
Ben.

 COUGH, SPLUTTER, "quick Daz catch me I feel faint", erm, don't want to appear a tight git, , but what would it be not including postage & Paypal fees, I thought, if its ok, for you to hang on to it for me and bring it with you when we meet up and I could pay for it then. By the way if you don't know already if you send a payment through Paypal marked as a gift you don't incur any fees,{ I only use this method with people I know and trust}. Thanks.

Richard, { Tight git :lol: }

You'll have to have a word with Dad about that, Richard. I know you can send a payment as a Gift, but that only works if it's not a business enabled account (unfortunately, mine has to be since it was receiving too much through eBay!)

I'll let you haggle with Dad!

Cheers,
Ben.

By the way, have you seen this, Richard?
